my boyfriend is going to get tested for add/adhd would that change him if he gets on medicine?

my boyfriend and i have had a lot of problems because at times he can act very young and then at times he is older than his age. he's always had problems focusing on anything including us. he gets lost with things he needs to concentrate on. i've been wondering if we should break up and move on although i really do love him i feel like he could be giving me more. he just got tested today and i don't know what the results are, but if he does have add or adhd and he gets on medicine will it change him and help him focus on things better including me?

I'm not sure what medications they give to people with ADD anymore, it's been years since I had to have medication for it, but yes it will change him. It will help him focus, but from what I remember and what my mother told me I at first got mood swings with the meds the docs put me on, but after awhile I was fine. For the most part it should help, just try to be patient with him and make sure he takes his meds or it could get worse at times. Maybe one day he'll be able to funstion properly without the meds like many others have been able to do after time.

Don't break up with him sweetie..my boyfriend has adhd and he doesn't take anything for it but that's what makes him so funny is how he acts. But if your boyfriend does get medicine for it, he'll be more relaxed and he'll be able to sit still lol.
