Reasons to go to the gym?

Question:
I am lazy dude, who hates going to the gym. I think I already look good. I think my physical structure is ok. However, my cousin keeps telling me to sign up for the gym. He has been going there for years. He says I can get "buffer" in gym. I try to be realistic, I heard it takez years for real results to show up. I'd rather sit on my a.. this summer, search for a part-time job(if I can find any) and prepare for my next semester in college. I am not overweight. Give me some reasons to sign up for a gym.

Also, the tricky thing with younger men is that they can eat and eat and eat and not exercise and still look good thanks to their fast metabolisms. The only problem with this is that often young men don't take good care of their bodies because they believe that they don't need to work out or eat right, so by the time they're in their 40s or 50s the effects from not being healthy show (health problems) when their metabolisms crash! So basically, while your outsides may still look good now, not exercising and eating right will surely catch up with you in the long run. Just because everything looks fine on the outside does not mean that every thing is fine on the inside as well.

Other Answers:
might not be overweight, but the gym could keep you in shape. As far as not tiring easily, etc.

no - wont give you reasons !

the best activities for you to pursue are ones you enjoy - simply because they will be kept up by you

try and do at least some cardio type work 3 times a week for 30 mins or eventually you will get fat and become a heart attack risk!

How many good looking women have you seen hanging around a tub of lard? Muscles rules! Don't do it man! Most people waste their money on gym memberships. If you are not motivated you will not go an when you go you will just stand around looking at girls. WAIT! There is your motivation. There are girls there! Unfortunately, that is the motivation for most guys to go to the gym - to look at the girls and to try to impress the girls with their buff bodies. Seriously, if you like sports, go out and play instead of standing in front of a mirror admiring your bicepts. Better yet, go to the library, find a good book, and find a smart girl, not some hoochie gym rat.

It definitely doesn't take years to see results! I guarantee that if you work out for three hours per week, you'll see VISIBLE results within two months and you'll feel psychologically better after two or three sessions.

A good reason to hit the gym is to meet people of the opposite sex! My brother is 19 and one of his friends was "picked up" by a hot girl at the gym, and I know of lots of relationships that have started at the gym. Even if you don't meet someone there, girls will definitely be attracted to your "buff" new look!

(Plus there are all the health benefits. blah blah blah.)

physical activity is good to prevent deseases including coronary deseas you're lazy, unemployed and you've never had a girl friend. f*ck yes, go to the gym. you'll get in shape and you FINALLY might get laid.
