Am I at an ok weight? confused?

Question:
Hi, i'm a 18 year old male and about 5'9''. I weigh around 180 pounds. But i look very skinny. Everyone always thinks i look like i weigh 130-140 lbs. Even at the doctors they start the scale off at 120 lbs and takes them a while to move all the way up to 180, and most of the time they have a wierd look on their face. Also my clothes sizes are small shirt and size 30 pants.

I have some bigger friends that actually weigh less or are around the same weight as me and are around my height.

Is this normal?

thanks

Answers:
You might have more muscle than most. Muscle is more condensed and weighs more than fat does. So your clothes may be smaller but the scale will say different.

If you want to get into bigger clothes then add weight training to your daily life.

Other Answers:
muscles weighs more than fat. so either you're a hunk or you really are fat or you ate a lead weight. check your toilet next time in case a brick comes out!
start going to the gym and getting more muscles. then when people say you look skinny, punch them in the ovaries. that will show them. seriously, you need to pack on some muscle. start working on a bodybuilder frame. it's all about that look.
If you have no doctors coming to you with a sad look on their faces then you are in the clear.
Are you muscular? Muscle weighs heavier than fat so if you have a low body fat percentage and high muscle, it's normal to be slimmer but heavier and it's perfectly healthy. You can get your fat percentage measured if you aren't sure - ask at a gym. 10-20% fat is normal.

Maybe it's cancer! :D
If you are happy w/ yourself, then that is all that matters.
There is no "normal" size..look around you!! Be thankful you are not OVERweight, that is way worse!!
