Answers:
You should see a doctor to get a professional medical opinion.

The knee is actually fairly complicated and is a union of the thigh bone (femur), two shin bones (tibia and fibula) and the knee cap bone (patella).

The bump on the knee might actually be the patella, which is normal. The pain might be the way the patella tracks when the knee flexes. There is also a very large tendon that covers the patella and connects the quadriceps muscles of the thigh to the shin bone (tibia).

A doctor will know more.
Did you hurt yourself?
