I dont know what made you think of taking this extreme step. Sex is a biological need of every adult human being and suppressing it hampers one physically as well as (and more so) psychologically. It should be taken as a normal human behaviour within the bounds of moral ethics. Abstainance as preached by Hindu saints for achieving "God" or such topics are not areas that made you decide on this step of yours, I guess. Neither would the theory that extreme use of drugs and alcohol would make one impotent--and hence uninterested in matters related to sex. That obviously is not your aim. Just lead a normal human life, with a normal sex partner, not over-doing it, nor under-doing it. It is worth it.
