My friend got punched by a guy for parking next to driveway?

Question: Tonight, my friend parked very close to a drive way of my neighbor who had previous complains from other people on the block for screaming at people parking next to his drive way. Tonight, my friend got punched by this guy for parking close to his drive way. We called the cops, pressed charges and need to go to court to give more information about the incident. There were witnesses to this event, and I want to know what will probably happen, law wise? Criminal record for that person, monetary compensation, etc? What are the procedures and actions to make him pay as much as possible or make him regret his decision to hit someone not in the money sort of way.

you said near his driveway so there was no trespassing.Cool, now, the *sshole will have to go to court on simple assault charges and will end up paying court cost. monetarily,his assault did not maime or disfigure this person but still he could file for damages if he goes to the hospitalon complaints of this bodily injury
