Can guys technically use "hormones" as an excuse for a verbal outburst?
Question:
It's okay now, but I was wondering-- is it a chick thing?
I thought that everyone has hormones-- and what's with the adjective "hormonal"? Doesn't that mean that you're all angry and out-of-it?
Did what I say make any sense? Can I guy say that his "hormones" are causing his occasional verbal ambushes?
Thanks.
Answers:
Yes, hormones can affect men as well, but the adjective is mostly used for pre-menstrual women. I won't fault you for using it; unfortunately most people in this society will.
It may be more aceptable to say something like " My blood sugar is low - I'll be okay after I eat"

Yes, thats a definate possibility -- they can even do blood tests on guys to see if our hormones are out of whack.
yes you can guys obviously dont ovulate but they do get a bad time of the month when their hormons are a bit messed up
thats a fact
In your case I say they would but I sure haven't.
Guys do have hormones. Testosterone which makes boys become aggressive and pushy. Especially when they feel their manhood or territory is threatened. However, there is never an excuse for angry outbursts. Our task as adult males is to learn to control our maleness and channel it in healthy ways.
guys PMS too, just without the period part. :) its generally not as bad as women's pms, but their hormones can get screwed up too.
it's more likely a seratonin or dopamine problem, those are brain chemicals. Try Effexor and Kolonipin and Remaron all at the same time in very low doses.
everybody has hormones, haha. usually women have outbursts caused by post menstrual syndrome (pms) im not a doctor but its normal for everyone to have outbursts maybe its stress or something that doesnt have to do with hormones.
check it out at the doctors :)
Sure you can, everybody has hormones. The cycle of our sex hormones effect our mood and behavior. Women cycle monthly and once a month they get "hormonal" it usually lasts a few days. Men cycle daily and at least once a day they get "hormonal" it usually lasts all day. So I guess guys don't use hormones as an excuse because it would get a little redundant. Guys are ALWAYS hormonal. That is why you are so much more likely to rape, kill, beat, abuse, fight, and just be mean in general, than women. Nobody accepts hormones as an excuse for guys because you could use the excuse anytime but you were probably right on when you said you were just being hormonal when you had an angry outburst.
I've never heard a guy ADMIT to being hormonal before, So I am pleased to see a guy who can. Yes guys have hormone fluctuations that cause weirdness too, in fact, as I understand it, you fellows are cycling ten times the amount women are, So you actually have more ups and downs, not less.
there is some truth to what your friend says.. You do have testosterone, which is unique to female hormones.. However I wouldn't say that they hormones are causing the mans verbal ambushes.. If it was hormones giving you a problem, then you would have troubles with too much mascuilinity or too little causeing you to be more femenine..
Factors such as the weather, too much caffeine or energy suppliments, nor not enough sleep could be culprits for verbal ambushes.. you should try to pay attention to next time you have one, could be that you need to change your environment or the things that you consume.. If you think you are having verbal ambushes very often rather than ocassionally, you can talk to your doctor about it.. Its important that they know such a thing..
