Numb Arms at night??
Question:
Answers:
I say it is carpal tunnel syndrome for sure. My father had very same symptoms and had the surgery done and numbness is all gone now. Go to another doc.
Other Answers:
It could be corpal tunnel syndrome. That usually affects the wrists, but it could affect the arms, too.
if they are above his head, that will also affect the numbness
sometimes having your arms simply crossed over your chest could also cause it
me 2! i wake up and cant feel them till a few minutes later. i think its because im dehydrated, i dunno why lol.
it happens to me... it's probably the way he's laying on them... i had changed my sleeping habits, and now my arms fall asleep a lot and it often wakes me up in the middle of the night.
I'm sure he rolls over at night. He's pinching a nerve and causing lack of circulation.
Poor circulation?
it happens to my uncle.
he has just gone to the chiropracter for his back and mentioned his arms went numb while he slept.
the chiropractor told him once he fixes his back it wont happen any more.
(yet to find out if it works or not)
Sometimes I wake up with one or the other arm numb. My doctor says the same thing. Numbness in the hands is carpal tunnel.
you might want to get his nerves checked cause if the nerves are beinhg pinched, they will go numb. like sitting on foot and it going to sleep on you. regular doctors dont check nerves.

Dont know if it will help him but I had the same thing in my left arm..I took IBUPROFEN FOR ABOUT A MONTH AND MOVED MY ARMS AROUND ALOT TO KEEP THEM LIMBER..There ok now, worth a try?? Your friend from Tennessee...ROB
I don't know hon, but I'd get another doctor. It could be pinched nerves, maybe originating from a disk in your neck or something, or the beginnings of some kind of neurological disorder. Is there tingling like they are asleep and re-awakening? Could the blood flow be restricting for some reason? I know it's expensive in the US but you really should get some tests done to at least rule out serious conditions. Yes Carpal Tunnel Syndrome is a possibility and cutting the appropriate tendon and nerves could relieve it.
I agree with Mrs...if you have coverage try a physio therapist. Everyone's muscles tighten with age. I actually went after an auto accident and after she was done with me I was touching my toes again without a problem, something I haven't done for decades!
Mine use to do that quite frequently... my massage therapists works on them every couple of months and they are fine. It is deep tissue massage... not the relaxing kind. Usually has to do with stress/tension/working out can tighten everything up.
Doctor is not going to know just because it isn't their specialty, massage therapist or physio or chiro or accupuncture will do better. Get a referral from your GP to go see a massage therapist, he might feel like crap afterwards but in the end... it works.
i am experiencing the same problem.now i know what it is.i will talk to my doc in 2 days about it.thanks for the answers.also to the asker, thanks.
