for those who had undergone spinal surgery, were there minor pains you experienced afterwards?

Question:
I usually experience pain in the area where I was operated on everytime I move out of a cab. But everything's perfect apart from it....

Answers:
Spinal surgery is never really MINOR.
If the doctor went in from the front, there will be pain for at least 6 months. If from the back, possibly 6 weeks.
Remember, the spine is like stranded wire...lots of fibers all bundled into a chord...and the stressing, stretching, or breaking of a single fiber can be debilitating and chronically painful the remainder of your days. Spinal fibers are NERVES and guess what never grows back once injured...you guessed it.

A guy goes into the doctor's office, raises his arm and says, "Doctor, it hurts when I do this."
Doctor replies, "Then don't do that!"

Sound advice. Recuperation tome is a necessity after any operation.

However, you will be best off consulting the operating physician. They may have specific recommendations as well as strictures to which you should adhere.
