My brother is acting wierd...?

My brother is acting weird when he goes to sleep at night he locks the door and doesn't open it 'till like 12 in the afternoon on woeekends and on weekdays he is usually late cuz he doesn't opne his door 'til 8:00 A.M and school starts at 8:30 and he has to take a shower and stuff. He also makes load noises at night and he doesn;'t sleep at all at night I know this because I hear him fooling around. He's only 14 why is he acting like this?? Any advice on why he's doing that? My dad wants to talk to him but he justr says I'm going to go do hoomework an he stays there the rest of the night. And he can't be doing homework because he's getting bad grades on his tests. He's also taking a razor to his room and when I checked his room the other day I saw blood on the floor. He's always in there. Do you think he's cutting himself? Advice needed please. Do you think he's mental? He also like asks my dad for a gun to buy for him and stuff.

This does not sound good at all. It sounds like you have very good reasoning for what you're considering may be going on. I'm proud that your dad knows, and I'm proud that you're concerned enough about him to post this question, and dear friend, my advice to you would be intervene...get SOMEONE to talk to him, and don't let him escape to his room with just a simple excuse. If he is cutting, it's a compulsive behavior, and it might not be the only thing he's thinking about doing. his grades dropping and the antisocial behavior leads me to believe he could be in a state of SEVERE depression and if so, people in that situation feel hopeless. You and your parents need to go together and get him some help....better an upset brother than an injured one....there are many options for him, sometimes it just takes the jumpstart made by those who love you to realize that it's not hopeless.....i'm proud of you and hang in there!!

maybe he just doesn't like his living situation.
