Depression or mid-life crisis?

Question:
How can I tell if my husband is depressed or going through mid-life crisis?

Answers:
How old is he? Does he work all the time? Does he take care of himself (physically, mentally and spiritually)? Depression could be related to circumstances or situations such as death of a loved one, loss of a job, it's usually associated with depressive things that could have happened. Mid life crisis is different, instead of being depressed and feeling like there is no hope, most of the time, the men look at what they've accomplished and look where they're headed. If they don't like what they see, most of the time they try to change themselves or get involved with others, experimenting things they've never done. You would really need to be more specific about the individual to decide whether they're depressed or going through mid life crisis.

Ask him
I would probably have a really good answer for you but I would need more information on how he acting, what is he doing? I am sorry, I was hoping I could help when I clicked on your question but you just didn't tell enough info for me......... Good luck, I hope you figure it out and I hope you can help him through.... Blessed Be.
It could be either. I would advise you to take him to a therapist. This is effecting your children and that is not healthy.
Probably both. A mid-life crisis is a form of depression.

However, if his method of dealing with it is anger and bitterness and he still gets his job done and brings home a paycheck, then that's probably a lot better than if he committed suicide or just picked up and left to hitchhike around the country.
