If its your "first" herpes blister, then it could last up to 2 months. If its just a "regular" blister, then just a few days. Your doctor can give you a "silver" treatment to cut your time way down if its Herpes (cutting it by half or more). And if its not, you can get a treatment anyways to get rid of it with anti-biotics or something similar.

As long as it is really just a surface blood blister and not deeper than the outer layer of skin, you can give him a week or two and see if it improves.
