Has anybody had a strained rotator cuff?

Question:
So basically, I play volleyball and I hurt my shoulder going up for a hit around may. I went to see a doctor, and he categorized it as a strained rotator cuff. So I had to miss two weeks, but I didn't obey him and played through the season. Eventually, the school season ended and my shoulder was still in pain but I continued doing the therapy excersices he gave me, and after about a month break, I rejoined my club team, and have been practicing for 3 weeks and after the rehab and the rest, my arm felt great and was stronger than ever, but last week after practice I started feeling some soreness in the same area as before. Now, I am not too concerned because the pain is very slight and nowhere close to the level that I played on in may and june, but I am beginning to worry that this could come back, and am thinking of seeing the doctor again. Any suggestions??

Answers:
I tore a rotator cuff muscle last winter. I did a lot of research on it and here are some links:

It is hard for me to admit that I have limitations. I can look at something I want to do, and think that if I just try hard enough I can do it.. but if we push too hard, something gives out. so we have to recognize our limitations and work within them.

If I were you, I'd go back to the doctor,,, or go to a sports doctor,, and have them check it again.

Go see the doctor. You may be reactivating your old injury. You may also have bursitis forming in your shoulder.
you don't want to hurt that body part very bad. it could put you out for a long time. listen to your doc.
i power lifted in high school and know i pay for it every day my rotater cuff hurts don't over do it keep it light
no, try ice but follow doctor orders because if you injure your rotary cuff you risk your volleyball career.
