What is worse high blood pressure or high cholesterol, I was just diagnosed with high cholesterol, the test?

Question:
shows my cholesterol level at 221, and the ldl direct at 162, is this real bad? Dr. said I had to cutt out certain foods excercise and take pills for life, he gave me crestor, I'm only 29 years old, he also gave me Lexapro because he said I seem really nervous, and the occult blood test came back positive so he ordered a colonoscopy and endsocopy, also my liver is swollen, what the heck?

Answers:
Well the 2 go hand in hand as the leading cause of stroke, pulmonary emboli and heart attack. With high blood pressure you run the risk of atherosclerosis that has built up in your arteries breaking off and traveling to your heart or lungs. You need to change your diet and excercise regularly. Reduce salt intake and eat a low cholesterol diet. You also need to stop drinking, I suspect from the information that you have told me that you may drink more alcohol than you should. You don't want to die of liver failure, trust me, it's not pretty. Also ask your doctor why he gave you Crestor when you have hepatomegally, that seems a bit odd to me. You need to have him check your LFT's and see what's going on with that. If you have liver problems that could actually be the cause of the hypertentson and the high cholesterol . Get it checked.
