Men: How do you feel about your physical appearance (esp. weight) these days?

Question:
For many decades, the media attacked women, and only women, about their physical appearance. A few years ago, they started on the men (you've all seen the adverts. Paticularly those Nivea Men adverts; they're whole message is basically "Women are laughing at you behind your back. Start using our cream."). So how is it making you feel? Insecure? Couldn't care less? Thank you very much!

Answers:
I started exercising recently. I did not start because I wanted to look good; I started because I needed it. I became overweight and I wanted to go back to the healthy weight that I once had.

I do not care about my appearance. When choosing what to wear, I do not worry about what matches; I choose a random pair of pants, underwear, and a shirt, put them on, and go through the rest of my day.

The trash the media shoves down your throat nowadays is amazing; thirty years ago, commercials were there to show products how to make your life easier. Now commercials tell you that you cannot be happy if you do not look like a telephone pole. That is why the amount of television I watch has decreased in the last few years.
I have quite a bit of chest hair and that is something you don;t normally see in the media, or if it is shown it is usually played for laughs (e.g. Austin Powers). I've always been very self-conscious about it and I always try to cover it up by wearing t-shirts.
I thought you meant another thing when you said 'using cream'. (like some enhancer cream -- for down there. LOL). But with Nivea... i guess it would be easier to simply be clean in your face. It is not that crucial for a guy to be immaculately clean or white or smooth. I guess guys would find a better prospect by being fit with some muscle (though that does not mean completely muscular like a bodybuilder.)

So with that comment I'd say i couldnt care less. I buy facial cleansers cause its better than soap, but ads do not compel me to buy more. ©
at first i succumbedto these ads. then i realized two things. first, i was in the marines, in a raider unit. i was the most macho, best of the best badass in the world. and i still didnt have a sixpack. second
women arent as picky as all that, and niether are men. yes, we like to look at perfect tummys. big breasts, and great asses. but we love are not a swim suit girls truely and deeply. just as you love your boys who dont have super abs and perfect chests. niether sex want someone terribly obese, or ugly, but both sexes arent looking for perfection, or the advertizers model of perfection either. someoen whos helathy, fun, kind funny intelligent...thqats all anyone wants. so i for one dont care much about the ads. i stay in shape so i can do the things i like to do - rock climb, play rugby, ski, etc. but ill shovel down a pizza and play video games for 24 hours straight too. i got a touch extra. and im happy with it.
I am 5'7" 220pounds and 10 percent body fat. I don't worry what others think
i don't really pay attention to the media, but i know i'm a few lbs over weight, just put together a home exercise gym to help me get back into shape.
