I sounds to me like you are refering to a procedure where the doctor is checking for inguinal hernias.the insert their finger in the skin beside the scrotum and ask you to turn your head and cough. They are checking for bulging in the inguinal ring, a place in the male anatomy prone to hernia. (they say "turn your head" so they don't get 'coughed on', btw)
They're making sure you don't have prostate cancer (they also have blood work done to check your PSI) and they check for hernia's.
They are checking for an inguinal hernia. Hernias are very prone in young guys like myself and you. Thats all it checks for, it doesn't check for hemmroids.
