I need help with After Piercing Lotion Instructions?
Question:
i got my ear pierced yesterday and the piercer gave me after piercing lotion, and the instructions say
"flush front and back of piercing site and slide piercing post back and forth once a day."
what does it mean flush?? and what is the piercing post?
Answers:
The piercing post is the "stick" part of the earring that actually goes thru your ear. You need to gently slide it back and forth so that the piercing doesn't try to close up. Flush just means to put a lot of the product on the piercing site. You could do this by dipping a clean Q-tip into the product and dabbing it around the piercing site several times, just make sure you use a clean Q-tip each time and make sure you get a pretty good amount of the product onto your ear.
The piercing post is the metal stick that goes through your ear! You have to turn it several times a day to make it heal well without sticking. To flush means to wash through - in other words you are washing your earlobe back and front and also through the hole.
Flush is wash but let the liquid run off ie not submerged.
Piercing bar is the log bit that actualy goes throug the skin ie the belly bar/ spike on the bck of the earing.
Soak your cotton wool well and rub it around your earring back and front. Turn the earring full circle, left then right. Just to stop it stiffening up. the piercing post is the bar that is through your ear that the back is attached to.
It means pour/splash water on it. Use salt water as it heals perfectly with it and it is soothing.
They mean let water run over it. don't submerge it in water but let water run on it instead. in my experience (and i have a lot of it), i've found the best thing is to keep it waaay clean and spin the earring or ring whenever its wet. do that for a while and you shouldnt have any problems...
