Husband have mass surrounded by his throat?

well for a while my hubby have had a problem beside his throat getting chocked easily etc. after several dr appointments they be finding nothing. resourcefully last dark he went to the emergency room becouse he said it feel as if his throat was closing they did a x gleam and found a golf ball size mass contained by his throat. He is young merely 21 what could this be? He is actually on his track to get test done.
