How else? You need low body fat so that your abs become visible in the first place. And to build the muscles you need to do a variety of exercises, such as core training, and yes - crunches. Do them on a Swiss ball and they'll be more effective.

actually twists work alot better and faster then crunches in my opinion- you just take a broom handle stretch your arms wide and twist back and forth at the waist also if you do the crunch method you have t5o do side ways crunches to get the uniformed toned look which noone seems to mention!

Six pack abs with out crunches, well you can do leg lifts where lying on your back with your legs straight place your hands palms down benieth your butt and lift your feet and shoulders 6 inches above the ground count to 3, lower and repeat this about 20-50 times, most of this lift is done with the abs, afterwards do a good 20 to 30 minute run to burn off the fat. Belly fat is usually the last bit to go so it takes time. but a few months and you should see a big difference.

the only thing that works better than crunches is running, when you run run for 30 seconds as hard as you can then break for 30 seconds (studies have shown that if you work harder for a shorter amount of time you burn more fat) then for a minute then a minute in a half each day, but here's a warning your form has to be picture perfect, if you slouch you'll actally end up weakining your abs, so stand up straight and run
