What is a cheap way to remove facial hair for long periods?

my skin is very sensitive and is sore and red for hours after i shave. I use a new razor every time and I've tried shaving creams for sensitive skin without improvement. at best i have hours of pain, at worst i get ingrown hairs in pimple like bumps.
how can i cheaply and safely remove my facial hair for at least a few days at a time.

Waxing keeps it away for 4-6 weeks.
