Whats the point of circumcision??

Question:
i dont get it

why do guys get it

Answers:
As a natural guy I never know why they get it done.
If its about being clean-not true. I wash my penis every day and never have a problem with smell. I'm sure a cut guy will smell if he doesn't wash it.

If its about looks-whats wrong with a natural part of the body. Should we get a woman's labia removed just for the looks? no! then why mutilate a guys penis just for looks.

To those who say less chance of aids. If this is true then Europe would be full of aids because most guys there are natural. Anyway whats wrong with using a condom and not sleeping around? that stops aids as well
its for cleanliness
so you dont have to pull the foreskin back to clean it,
its not necessary to get it.
i guess i don't know why guys get it..

but i personally think it looks a lot nicer and it keeps clean.. and much more hygenic.

i hear circumsized guys last longer because their knob is not as sensitive compared to a guy who is uncircumsized?
Circumcision is healthier and much more hygienic.
Hygiene.
In the Bible
circumcission is a useless medical prcedure - used for religious reasons - dont ask me why (i suppose arabs get it so they dont get any sand caught lol)

yes some would argue that its cleaner but whats wrong with washing?...and who would want a curcumsised rough penis? its a way to get money out of people...my advice if your thinking about getting your child curcimised is this..its his penis.he has to live with it for the rest of his life... you just had the kid and now you wnat to butcher its penis?...ak yourself this would you like someone coming at you with a knife to butcher your bits??
most guys who are circumcised underwent the procedure at birth or in infancy. It was a common custom prior to the 80s and began to be done less often after that. In some cases, it is done for religious beliefs. Many others have their sons circumcised due to the mistaken belief that it is healthier or cleaner or so that they "look like the other little boys". This is NOT the case. Snipping off a foreskin does NOT make someone cleaner. That comes from being taught personal hygiene at a young age. There are NO medical reasons for ROUTINE circumcision. There are a few (rare) instances where circumcision MAY become necessary later on, but those are pretty rare and this procedure is a last resort.

Consider this, a boy is born with a foreskin. That is how he is made. Why mess with it if there is no reason to. We are also born with an appendix, but we don't remove it at birth because it causes no problems either. Only when an appendix causes problems should it be removed. Otherwise, it is un needed surgery and considered mulitation. The same thing applies to circumcision.
Circumcision is something that should only be carried out for medical reasons. Conditions like phimosis, which prevent the foreskin from retracting over the head of the penis would require circumcision.
Some religions require that the male is circumcised, but without getting too deeply into a religious argument, I personally believe the practice of mutilating a childs penis in the name of some god to be a somewhat primitive and barbaric ritual.
As for circumcision on hygene grounds, well, if a man is too lazy to pull his foreskin back to give 'the old feller' a daily scrub I shudder to think of how clean the rest of him is.
Sex after circumcision, well, speaking from experience it makes no difference at all. Performance and sensitivity are no different from pre op sex.
Circumcision can restrict the formation of the mans natural lubricant which aids penetration. In such cases an artificial lubricant may be advised.
So you can get rid of unnecessary extra skin so dirt among other wont get in there. Also it makes your penis look your bigger..
It doesn't seem like anyone else so far can claim this, but I have experience with both 'sets'.
I decided to get 'trimmed' because of cosmetic and hygienic reasons. Too much clothing lint would stick and I personally felt the circumcised look was more pleasing.
The only down fall was that my natural ability to produce lubricant diminish significantly, so I now use artificial oils and lubricants when necessary, and they still don't feel the same. I actually miss that. Or if I want to get rough and nasty, I just use spit.
And that's one mans reason.
Circumcision is a traditionally Jewish and Muslim procedure, although it was introduced and encouraged to the Western, developed world as a way to stop masturbation, especially with the help of Dr. Kellogg. (see link 1) However, although scientific studies have discovered that circumcision harms masturbation by up to over 60% (2), needless to say, it doesn’t completely stop masturbation. Many circumcised guys find it more convenient to use a commercial lubricant as a result (3) since the typically moist foreskin that is like the eyelids is not present to rub the glans with (4).

Most developed nations quickly rejected circumcision after noticing its ineffectiveness against masturbation, and as a result the United States remains the last developed nation doing it to a significant percentage of newborns. (5) This was done as a result of the for-profit American health care system promoting myths about benefits of circumcision (6), such preventing penile cancer (6a, 6b), preventing HIV (6c, 6d) despite the USA being the developed nation with the highest HIV rates and circumcision rates (6e, 5), and preventing STDs (6d, 6f). As a result, circumcision is now brings in hundreds of millions of dollars to doctors and the American health system. (7)

However, circumcision has been becoming less popular as years have passed by. In the 1960s over 90% of guys were circumcised in the USA, now circumcision rates are as low as 14% in some states. (8) More and more parents are discovering that circumcision carries more risks than benefits, and realize that by leaving their sons uncircumcised, they have the choice of choosing what they’d like, since the surgery is irreversible.

Circumcision risks include the loss of sexual pleasure according to multiple studies (2, 9, 10, 11). Those studies take into effect many sensation points, including the foreskin, and they involve many participants. There have been other studies that claim no difference, but they don’t even take into effect the nerve endings on the foreskin, which as seen in one study, are some of the most sensitive points on the penis (10). One study even found an increase in erectile dysfunction rates after circumcision (10a). In another study, it was found that females ended up reaching orgasm with and preferring uncircumcised males in 9 out of 10 cases (10b). In addition, circumcision is extremely painful on newborns (12, 13, 14), and you risk many bad conditions, such as a buried penis when too much foreskin is removed and limits the size of the penis (15), or adhesions or skin bridges that develop from the head to the shaft when the skin heals after the surgery (16), meatal stenosis [occurs in up to 10% of circumcised males!] when the opening of the penis becomes irritated from too much exposure and rubbing and begins to close up (17), and meatal ulcers (18). All those risks are, of course, not including the possibility of having too much skin removed, which can cause discomfort during erections due to lack of skin to allow the penis to expand, and could consequently cause a hairy penis by pulling pubic hair and skin to the shaft. Often a circumcision scar develops around the penis after circumcision. In addition, circumcision has negative effects on breastfeeding. (18)

To conclude, here is a link that describes the anatomy of the foreskin (19) and the development of the foreskin with infants, a link especially helpful for parents (19a). Ultimately, one survey found that although uncircumcised guys are a bit more satisfied percentage-wise, it’s within the margin of error. (20) The only difference is that those unsatisfied uncircumcised guys can simply get circumcised and end up satisfied either way. In addition, in one survey it was found that up to half of circumcised guys expressed concerns on wishing to have had the choice themselves. (21) That, along with the risks and negative effects that are being seen more with the help of the Internet, may be what is bringing down circumcision rates.
Circumcision originated for religious reasons. It was introduced and popularized in Western societies (but particularly the US) to prevent masturbation (which it did a really crappy job at) and have since been touted to be more "hygienic" and less prone to STDs. All of those claims are actually false.

Many people wrongly think that the foreskin is hard to clean, or a hassle to clean, but in fact it's very easy to clean and keep clean. Good genital hygiene also has the added benefit of reducing/eliminated most problems associated with the foreskin.

In addition, most studies conclude that there's no real difference between circumcised and uncircumcised men in regards to getting STDs/infections. Again, good genital hygiene plays a critical role and in fact, can help reduce the chances of getting HIV (link 1). This is not very publicized whereas the research linking circumcision to a decreased HIV rate is all over the news. But another study indicates that a country's prostitution rate, not its circumcision rate, is what determines HIV rate (link 2). In any case, good hygiene + safe sex (i.e. condom use) >>> circumcision.

And circumcision removes a lot of nerve endings in the foreskin that could otherwise contribute to sexual sensitivity (link 3). Also several studies indicate that the foreskin may actually be beneficial to the sexual satisfaction/pleasure of not only the guy, but the woman as well (links 4, 5, 6).

So as long as the foreskin's working normally (which is true for the vast majority of guys), he maintains good genital hygiene (which is quick and easy), and he practices safe sex (which he should anyway), there really is no point - outside of religious or the very rare medical reasons - for circumcision. Also, most guys don't choose to get circumcised, it's imposed upon them by someone else without their consent. And there's something very wrong with that, if nothing else.

No reason. Has its origins in religion and hygiene. To discourage masturbation and make it easier to keep clean - WHEN people lived in the desert a LONG time ago (no longer an issue if you're in a civilised country with clean water, and remember to shower and clean it most days).
