Why do guys have nipples?
Question:
Answers:
In the first 6 weeks after conception there is no difference between girl and boy. Nipples are there as each embryo MAY be a girl. When at six weeks if the sex is determined to be a boy he is stuck with nipples. I am a boy and it seems no big deal.
so females can suck on them
biological leftovers, i have heard rumors that they have underdeveloped uterus's. probably an urban legend
The nipples provide a focus point for the male chest. They direct the eye to the curve of the pectoral muscle.
Men and women are mammals (from the Latin mamma breast) a species that have breasts and feeds its young with milk. The human embryo has tissue that will evolve into breasts. Both male and female babies are born with nipples and ducts intact. It is the presence of genes that direct hormones to differentiate the breast tissue. The Y chromosome stimulates hormones such as testosterone to form male features
babies in the womb are physically not 'boys' until late in pregnancy when hormones change them into boys. the nipples remain, no matter which gender you become.
Why have male nipples not dissapeared?
There seems to be a logical explanation about why women have nipples - for babies. But why do men's bodies retain what appears to be redundant body parts? The Darwinian natural selection process would seem to dictate that male nipples really should not be there. So what's the deal? Why do men have nipples?
The answer is that as embryos men and women have similar tissues and body parts. If anything the embryo follows a 'female template'. That is why nipples are present in both sexes. It is the effect of the genes, the Y chromosome and the hormone testosterone that brings about the changes and masculinises the embryo. Testosterone promotes the growth of the penis and testicles. Because nipples are there before this process begins the nipples stay!
Nipples and breast tissue have no function as such except for perhaps protecting the heart and lungs from injury.
for pinching during sex.. heh heh;~)
in case they want to become women later, all they have to do is get implants
Boys and girls start out the same early on, as embryos, then go their separate ways, with many of their parts just changing shape and location. I suppose to Mother Nature, giving everyone nipples to begin with and then only having girls develop mammary glands to go with them was the simplest approach, easier than figure out how to attach girls' nipples after their body was already formed.
Did you know your nipples were made out of the same kind of skin as your penis? It's called "erectile tissue" and works the same way: it's spongy and fills with blood to become hard when it's stimulated.
to make them more attractive
You really don't know do you?
