Pros and cons of having your penis circumsized and non circumsized?
Question:

It's common sense that if you're circumcised as an adult you're going to like it because you chose to have it done.Circumcision is a traditionally Jewish and Muslim procedure, although it was introduced and encouraged to the Western, developed world as a way to stop masturbation, especially with the help of Dr. Kellogg. (see link 1) However, although scientific studies have discovered that circumcision harms masturbation by up to over 60% (2), needless to say, it doesn’t completely stop masturbation. Many circumcised guys find it more convenient to use a commercial lubricant as a result (3) since the typically moist foreskin that is like the eyelids is not present to rub the glans with (4).
Most developed nations quickly rejected circumcision after noticing its ineffectiveness against masturbation, and as a result the United States remains the last developed nation doing it to a significant percentage of newborns. (5) This was done as a result of the for-profit American health care system promoting myths about benefits of circumcision (6), such preventing penile cancer (6a, 6b), preventing HIV (6c, 6d) despite the USA being the developed nation with the highest HIV rates and circumcision rates (6e, 5), and preventing STDs (6d, 6f). As a result, circumcision is now brings in hundreds of millions of dollars to doctors and the American health system. (7)
However, circumcision has been becoming less popular as years have passed by. In the 1960s over 90% of guys were circumcised in the USA, now circumcision rates are as low as 14% in some states. (8) More and more parents are discovering that circumcision carries more risks than benefits, and realize that by leaving their sons uncircumcised, they have the choice of choosing what they’d like, since the surgery is irreversible.
Circumcision risks include the loss of sexual pleasure according to multiple studies (2, 9, 10, 11). Those studies take into effect many sensation points, including the foreskin, and they involve many participants. There have been other studies that claim no difference, but they don’t even take into effect the nerve endings on the foreskin, which as seen in one study, are some of the most sensitive points on the penis (10). One study even found an increase in erectile dysfunction rates after circumcision (10a). In another study, it was found that females ended up reaching orgasm with and preferring uncircumcised males in 9 out of 10 cases (10b). In addition, circumcision is extremely painful on newborns (12, 13, 14), and you risk many bad conditions, such as a buried penis when too much foreskin is removed and limits the size of the penis (15), or adhesions or skin bridges that develop from the head to the shaft when the skin heals after the surgery (16), meatal stenosis [occurs in up to 10% of circumcised males!] when the opening of the penis becomes irritated from too much exposure and rubbing and begins to close up (17), and meatal ulcers (18). All those risks are, of course, not including the possibility of having too much skin removed, which can cause discomfort during erections due to lack of skin to allow the penis to expand, and could consequently cause a hairy penis by pulling pubic hair and skin to the shaft. Often a circumcision scar develops around the penis after circumcision. In addition, circumcision has negative effects on breastfeeding. (18)
To conclude, here is a link that describes the anatomy of the foreskin (19) and the development of the foreskin with infants, a link especially helpful for parents (19a). Ultimately, one survey found that although uncircumcised guys are a bit more satisfied percentage-wise, it’s within the margin of error. (20) The only difference is that those unsatisfied uncircumcised guys can simply get circumcised and end up satisfied either way. In addition, in one survey it was found that up to half of circumcised guys expressed concerns on wishing to have had the choice themselves. (21) That, along with the risks and negative effects that are being seen more with the help of the Internet, may be what is bringing down circumcision rates.
its just great being natural. being natural means you are the way God made you, you don't need lube when you masturbate, your glans/head stays sensitive, its better for the girl, you don't have a big ugly scar line on your penis, the skin can still move on the penis shaft.
To those who say a natural uncut guy is dirty, well I wash every day and pull the skin back when i pee so I don't get smelly and dirty. It takes a whole 5 seconds to wash it when I shower so isn't that big a job to do.
To the ones who say it helps with AIDS to be cut. This is debatable if you ask me. Whats wrong with wearing a condom and not sleeping around?
Only very few people have problems with their foreskin and usually these are small and can be fixed very easily without getting circumcised.
Why remove a perfectly good part of your penis when it doesn't need to be done, not to mention when people get their babies done against the child's free will
well mines is incircumsized and hell yea its better.
non circumsized and love it
People will always argue about this. In terms of personal experiences, most circumcised people had it done at birth and don't know what they're missing. However, some who had it done as adults like it, some don't. I would say I have heard from more who were disappointed.
There are no genuine medical or hygienic reasons to get it done - check statements by doctors to see this. Washing under the foreskin every day is fine for keeping it clean. There is limited evidence that being circumcised means there is less chance of you picking up HIV when you have unprotected sex with an HIV-positive woman, but the chance of getting it is still high either way so unsafe sex is still incredibly risky. Being circumcised is not HIV protection for either partner.
In terms of looks and feels...it's hard to objectify pleasure because everybody experiences things differently, but as you lose bundles of skin and nerve endings with circumcision, you probably feel less. There are also studies showing that circumcision is not as good for the woman. Some women prefer the look of a circumcised penis, usually those who are used to it. However most of the guys in the world are not circumcised; as a girl I really like the look and feel of an uncircumcised one.
I was cut at 18 and have been on both side and can attest that being circumcised is the way to go! If someone has had it both ways they have no clue and believe all the BS they read on the web! It is interesting that most anti circ guys are uncut! Being cut is cleaner, healthier, looks better, improves sex and you cut your chances of acquiring STD's and HIV by 60%! Which proves that the foreskin is a nasty bacteria and virous trap!! If you want to get circumcised go for it! Couldn't give it a higher recommendation!
Pros of being circumcised: you don't have to worry about conditions such as phimosis and paraphimosis that affects only the foreskin (but such conditions are almost always easily treated without surgery). It could reduce recurrent & frequent infections/irritations. And some recent studies correlate circumcision with a decreased rate of HIV contraction in Africa (though a cause-effect relationship hasn't been firmly established, so the studies can be rather dubious).
Cones of being circumcised: it hurts (link 1) and does have risks and complications (link 2), with the worst case scenario being death (link 3). Circumcision removes a lot of the nerve endings in the foreskin that could otherwise contribute to sexual sensitivity (links 4, 5).
Pros of being uncircumcised: it's more sensitive (again, links 4, 5) and several studies have indicated that the foreskin may actually be beneficial to the sexual satisfaction/pleasure of both the man and woman (links 6, 7, 8). It protects the glans (penis head) from injury and from becoming desensitized over time.
Cons of being uncircumcised: like any part of the body it sometimes can have problems. Again, phimosis and paraphimosis are the main issues. Sometimes it can get infected/irritated.
Caveats: the foreskin is really easy to clean and keep clean, so hygiene is rarely an issue unless one is a total slob or lives in a place with no clean running water. Good genital hygiene actually minimizes/prevents most problems associated with the foreskin. There is no significant difference between circumcised and uncircumcised men in regards to getting STDs. The correlation between circumcision and HIV can be refuted with studies about good hygiene (link 9), prostitution rates (link 10), and practicing safe sex.
Basically, as long as a guy's foreskin is working normally (which is true for the vast majority), he maintains good genital hygiene (which is quick and easy), and he practices safe sex (which he should anyway), there really aren't any noteworthy cons of being uncircumcised - and it's probably better to be uncircumcised under those 3 simple conditions. See the remaining links for further discussion on this issue.
Just because you choose to do things doesn't mean that it's always going to turn out positive. There are a lot of girls i've choosen to date that when I look back I've asked myself why? If every choice in life we ever made ever made was always positive then no one would ever have problems. That's a weak arguement. I known people who had to be circumcised for health causes and they too feel that it's a lot much better.
I have experienced life on both sides of the issue. I was circumcised at 19, and it's a lot much better in every aspect of life.
Pros:
Better hygiene
Less likely to contract STD's/HIV or other infections.
Sex is more pleasurable, (no forskin interference)
Never worry about: Smegma, Phimosis, Paraphimosis, Fibrosis, Balantis
Cons: None
Circumcised, Neater, cleaner, sexier looking.
