Ok my Dad is like 56 and he has never had a prostate exam or a colonoscopy and whnever I try to bring up the situation or anything he gets really pissed. My mom says that we should just let him go but I would just die if he got sick later on in life. How can I convince him to go?

Answers:
You have to respect his wishes. You've told him about the dangers, so he is informed; now as an adult he's entitled to make his own choices, just as you are.
It's extremely difficult to change ourselves; it's impossible to change others. So if he really doesn't want the checkup, nothing will make him go.
many things like that if they get caught early can be treated
if not , maybe they can't
Thats tough... you might start by telling him you are concerned for his health and want to see him around for another 40 years..
Why does my butt smell like cheese?
Your dad likely won't go for an exam for the same reason that I at age 68 have never had a prostate exam. Because it's damn degrading. I took my father for many exams and stayed in the room at his request as he was getting pretty old and unsure of himself. Personally, I'll die from prostate cancer before I'll have that exam. Get a simple infallible blood test ,and I'll take it. The test they have now they can stick up their own butt.
you can't..he's gotta go himself. I sort of understand his thinking..if nothing's broke, why see the doc. It's this time in life that he needs regular appointments and exams. Actually, this should have started long ago. Good luck..I feel for you.
I am 5'9" 187 pounds and i play ofensive stripe on the footbal troop.(16 yrs old)?
I'm guessing that you've got a classic '50's "Manly Dad." Appeal to his pragmatic nature and relate everything to cars. Say Dad, you wouldn't wait 'til your car broke down to get a tune-up would you? You get the oil changed regularly, don't you? He can't take care of his family if he succumbs to cancer, can he? As for the rectal exam thing- well, sometimes ya gotta take it for the team. Yes, it can be degrading, but if a man needs to do it to continue to take care of his family, think of it as an "access panel." It is uncomfortable, but like going to the dentist, the anticipation is worse than the deed. The discomfort afterwards will be a day or two, tops. A "real man" won't have his masculinity compromised by a routine medical exam even though a prostate or rectal exam may trigger an INVOLUNTARY erection.
He should get a blood test called a PSA, but he should get said exams anyway 'cause my Dad's PSA levels were normal, but he insisted that something was wrong and he did in fact have prostate cancer. His brother got it before him so if there's a family history be sure to tell the doctor. It's a very survivable cancer if caught early enough.
My uncle had surgery and is healthy now. My Dad had hormone and radiation therapy and is healthy now. I think my Dad's treatment was non-invasive and has a lower risk for, uh, manly complications, but that's up to the doctors and your Dad to determine. Besides, even if there are complications it's better than being dead- they don't have a pill for that yet! Good luck!
How can i competent to lose my bulk that make me attractive and dependable contained by look?
My dad died due to colon cancer, he was 55, at first he ignored all the pain his feeling, then got to a doctor then gave a wrong diagnose until we came to 3rd opinion that its a colon cancer, then, it's too late when we knew it, it's already accute. he was scheduled for several operations but none of it was done due to his weak body.
Cancer is a silent disease, we will only know it when it's already accute or when its too late.
do'nt take any medicine unless prescribed by your doctor, go find and seek for other opinions by doctors for your assurance.
or if you want to take some alternatives, go find grapeseed oil extract, it's a 100mg gel capsule that is more potent than viataminE and C, it's an antioxidant that can cure or prevent cancer from developing (according to some alive testimonials)...
You can only do so much and you cant live for your Dad, he has to decide for himself... Does he read much, is he interested in other health issues... There are some good articles on prostate in these type of magazines. What about a subscription to one... I know that 1 in 6 men will get prostate cancer and I am told that if caught early nearly 100% survive.
is it better that your dick is circumsised do you get more plesure then non circumsised?
Print off your question and all the answers and then give the print out to him. That should get him to at least think about it seriously.
You can't make him go, but showing love, concern, and maybe even a little fear might motivate him.
I had prostate cancer at 54. Everything is great now. But, the cancer was near the outside of the gland. If I hadn't caught it when I did, the pathologist said that it might have spread within a year or two. I might have been dead by now.
It's that important.
