When a man gets excited the blood rushes into his member, morning wood is caused by having to urinate, when your blatter is full, it presses against other guys stuff and causes the same 'blood rush' resulting in erection. It's only natural.I don't know all of the fancy names and such but that's what happens.

Well, I believe the reason for having a morning wood , is so your body knows you haven't lost your erection. Some men loss it while they get older and some loss it sooner. A morning wood in the morning is a good sign.
