He has to shave everyday for his job... but he is getting really bad bumps that eventually bleed when he has to shave the next day... We have tried bikini zone, a girls razor. etc... Any suggestions???

I have very sensitive skin and used to get razor bumps and ingrown hairs from shaving. It was embarassing, quite frankly. I went to a barber shop and had them teach me how to do the perfect shave, so here you go:
First of all, you always shave after you shower. In the shower, you should wash your face thoroughly with an actual face soap, such as that made by Neutrogena. It will soften your beard and won't dry out your skin. Then follow these steps:
1 - apply a hot wash cloth to your face and keep it there for at least 30 seconds. This opens the pores and softens the beard even further. Do not dry the face afterward.
2 - apply a pre-shave oil. Just a few drops will coat the entire beard area
3 - apply a thin layer of shave cream, preferably a gel meant for sensitive skin
4 - using a clean razor with sharp blades, shave with the grain. For most men, this means downward strokes on the cheeks and around the mouth, and upward strokes for the throat area
5 - rinse the face with very cold water. This will remove all remaining oil and shave cream, while sealing the pores back up.
6 - apply a non-alcohol based moisturizer. Alcohol based aftershaves dry out the skin. Shaving is pretty traumatic for skin, so you need moisture at this time, so it can heal. use moisturizer as needed throughout the day. Your husband might complain about the act of applying moisturizer, but he'll thank you in 20 years when his friends look like old men and he doesn't.
If this doesn't significantly help your husband's situation, you might consider visiting a facial specialist at a spa for more advice, but I think you'll notice a difference in just a short while. Good luck!

I have the same problem. What works best for me is to get a gel, not a cream. Splash hot water on your face so your pores open up, rub the shaving gel on your face, wait 30 seconds to penetrate the pores and then shave. follow up with a after shave lotion, not a pure liquid. it works wonders

Get in touch with someone who does slumber parties or look it up online. It's actually a company that makes "intimate" products, but they have a shaving cream called "coochie" and it is designed for shaving pubic hair, but is amazing for facial hair. The lady I know who does slumber parties says her husband uses it and he has a baby butt face

A couple things:
He should shave after he showers, or better yet, in the shower at the end of it. His hairs will be softer.
He should shave with the grain, never against it.
He should use a shaving cream for sensitive skin.
He should use a moisturizing aftershave (like a cream or something like it)
He should get the best razor he can afford.
Look into getting his face waxed. I know this sounds dreadful, but he won't have to shave and he will stay smooth for way longer, with no razor burn.
I've also used the Norelco wet shave system, and it works like a champ. never had any kind of irritation with it and always a smooth refreshing shave.
You can try an electric razor. Perhaps a sensitive skin shaving cream. Try using aftershave as well.
If all else fails and he doesnt want to have hair there again there is always laser removal. It can be fairly pricey though.

An electric razor probably won't give him such a close shave but it may help. Those quadro blade razors work good. There are also several products that may help, if you cannot find them in stores or online, alot of them can be found in black beauty supply stores or barber shops. There is Bump Away shave gel and cream. Bump Stopper Bump Patrol. High Time Bump Stopper shaving gel. Also make sure he gets his face hot and moist, like place a hot washrag on it, before he shaves to soften skin. Another thing that helps is to buy a good oatmeal exfoliating scrub and do that at least twice weekly. It will help to keep the dead skin off so that the hair wcan grow straight out instead of ingrown.

Try Men's Lab anti-burn cream or equivalent. They're sounding like ingrown hairs .. tough skin. Before shaving a hot towel (dampened and warmed in the microwave for example) might help.

I find the multi blade razors also make things a bit better , and then finish with a food quality after shave
Maybe also get a foil head electric to use every other day which gives skin a bit more chance to recover between wet shaves

Its a little known fact but skin burn and irritation can be made worse by the newer multi blade razors, like the mach 3 and fusion. Although they decrease pressure on the skin, they are still effectively dragging several blades rather than one.

Whatever he uses at the minute, go the opposite. So if he uses a single blade razor, try a mach 3. If he's using a mach 3, try a sinlge blade razor instead. It's a bit trial and error I'm afraid.

If you go into Debenhams at the minute it's the Clinique bonus time, so if you buy the two goodies above you'll get a pick of a free bag with loads of goodies in it. Its not cheap though, about £10 to £15 per item but I'll never go back to anything else, it is that good.
