Answers:
Yeah. Running will do wonders and just simple push-ups and crunches will help a lot. You just need to set a schedule(sp?) and stick to it. Also, make sure there is a lot of protein in your diet. You can do it! Good luck!
Run, push ups and sit ups... thats all HS football teams do during hell week. You wont be able to feel your legs at the end of 2 or 3 a days.

Start drinking water like crazy too.
i would be doing lots of push-ups and wind sprints
Four weeks is only long enough to get you ready to get in great shape! You'll need to start running first. Try a slow 8 to 10 minute mile to start. And then do some push ups in sets of 10. Maybe 5 sets of ten in the morning, then another set in the evening. Same deal for sit ups. Wind sprints, yeh they suck, are gonna be par for the course, so do some now. Find another guy who'll be on the team and work out together. I'd wait on weight lifting and running plays til practice starts. And good luck! Pace yourself, don't blow your guts out trying to look tough!!
