Does running make you shorter?

Question:

Answers:
Okay, so I heard something about this in a physics class once. If you run, the pressure causes compression in your vertebral column throughout the day (as does just standing and walking around.), in turn making you shorter. BUT when you go to sleep at night or lay down, your vertebral column elongates again and no height is lost. I'm pretty sure it doesn't make you shorter in the long run.
uhh i dont think so...
No running has nothing to do with your hieght at all it does Nothing to control how tall you are Or will be at all.
Maybe a little. The pounding your joints take could conceivable compress your spine. I spent seven years skiing in the Rockies. When I moved there I was 6' 2". After years of skiing I was 6'. Now that I've been out of there for two years, I'm 6' 2" again. I used to have some back discomfort, but now I don't. I attribute the shortness to the back pain, and compression from years of impact.

It may be a little far fetched, but you may be on to something if you run a lot.
Kristina is correct. Standing during the day causes you to settle a little. You will be shorter at night than you are in the morning, everyday. So running will not make you shorter permanently, just until you lay down at night and you will be your old self again in the morning.
