In order to loose weight but get stronger is a hard combination that I am trying to figure out. If you are trying to get rid of your belly and get more definition, you will put on weight, but it will be pure muscle.
You have to eat healthier, do a cardio workout at least 3 times a week and lift at least 3 times a week. Rotate your workout as well, I usually do chest/biceps one day, back/triceps the next and shoulders/abs last.
If you are looking for definition over size, do more reps instead of increasing you weight, only when your reps are to high, like above 30, should you increase your weight, but 15-25 reps on less weight will get you more definition. I started using the eliptical and during this weight routine and it has been going great.
Good luck
You can't build muscle and lose weight at the same time. Muscle weighs more.
Just try working on definition.
in order to lose weight and become defined you must do all of these things:
1) eat healthy
2) cardio exercise 3 times a week for at least 30min sessions
3) total body weight training routine 2-3 times a week on alternate days. (men's health magazine might be able to show you how to get one started)
the more you can read up on exercise and nutrition the better off you will be in achieving your weight loss goals!
Eat only when hungry and not more than thrice a day. Nothing other than water in between. Include plenty of uncooked vegetables and fruits in each meal, preferably 50%. Chew each morsel at least 32 times to activate ur body to generate signals of hunger/fullness. Obey these signals.
Take light exercises and brisk walks regularly preferably twice a day.
U will achieve what u have not even dreamt and that too in a reasonable time. Do not be in a hurry.
The ultimate problem isn't that you are overweight. Usually, it's WHAT cause you to get overweight in the first place, i.e bad eating habits, genetics, lazyness, mental health ect...In order to maintain a healthy weight you need to have healthy and positive habits that contribute to a healthy lifestyle. I would also lay some blame on your parents for allowing your to become overweight (unless you have some disorder). Before you start any exercise regime, I would suggest you work on your eating and lifestyle habits.
