think of a cheetah, they run on their toes.
Flat foot means you don't have good arches. If you don't wear orthotics and shoes with good arch support you can end up with nasty bunions and other foot problems. Even if you do follow all of this you can end up with nasty bunions.
flat foot means that your feet are literally flatter that normal feet. if you do have flat feet your doctor would have have probably noticed and he/she would have recommended surgery to reshape your feet
There are certainly no advantages to it. If you have flat feet it means you've got little or no arch on your foot. The purpose to having arches on one's feet is to absorb the shock each time they take a step; when one is on their feet they're putting on the equivalent of 125% of their total body weight on their feet. Not being able to adequately absorb this shock eventually leads to a plethora of lower back, knee and hip problems which tend to worsen over time. Also, most flat-footed people tend to over-pronate, which is when the foot, along with the bones on one's lower leg, tilt inwards. As the bones and muscle come into contact, this may cause shin splints. Also, as the misaligned bones brush against the patella (knee), this may cause knee problems such as patella-femoral syndrome, which is the wasting away of the cartilage on one's knee as a result of the friction.
