If there was a male contraceptive pill - how do you think it would work?
Question:
Please, a simple explanation!
Answers:
It would work horribly because men would not be reliable enough to take it. There isn't a big enough consequence for them, if that makes sense.
It would probably stunt the sperm from fully developing or possibly immobilize them so they wouldn't be able to swim up to the egg. Great idea by the way. I can't believe there isn't a male contraceptive pill on the market yet.
it would probably have a chemical that either killed the sperm or stop the production of the sperm.
Women's birth control does not stop the Development of eggs, it simply stops it from being released, so it does not have a chance to make it's way down into the fallopian tubes, then down into the uterus. From what I've read, female's eggs are mature at birth. We have millions of them. But they are only realeased through hormones, about once a month. And birth control pills, are hormones, which trick your body into thinking you're pregnant, therefore you will not release that egg.
I would think Male birth control pills would stop the production of sperm. Guys would still have fluid released, they would still orgasm, but the fluid would be infertile. Either the sperm would be dead, or unable to swim, OR the fluid would not contain sperm, hence stopping the production of sperm completely.
I don't know for sure, that's just what I would guess. I heard one is coming out soon though. Good Question.
because women only release 1 egg per cycle, it's easier to create a system to prevent pregnancy. That, and the human egg is the largest cell in the body. It actually can be seen by the naked eye. It's about the size of a grain of sand.
Men on the other hand produce billions of sperm cells a day. To the contrast of the egg, sperm is teeny tiny. It's much harder to control, and something that small and in that abundance is very hard to control on a daily basis.
The ony way for there to be a male birth control pill is through methods of complete obstruction of the sperm's pathway (vasectomy) or a pill that would render a man complete infertile.
