For an avid lifter, is it ok to take 4 days off lifting once every few months?

Question:
I work out 4-5 days a week every week. Once every couple months I get real busy and cant work out for 3-4 days in a row. How much is that actually hurting me taking that many days off? or does it actually help to take breaks like that every so often?

Answers:
Thats fine. Actually i have heard that a week or two off every few months is a real good thing. You have total repair of your muscles which is good for breaking them down again and getting bigger. Plus you will be allowed to break a plateau you had be4...
you actually should only work out every other day

because the working out is what tears the muscles down

the breaks is what builds them back up to be bigger than they were before

so yea, take some breaks every now and then
a few days would probably help
The best way is to alternate what you are doing so that your body has time to heal and grow work on different areas of your body every other day and on your off day do cardio like go for a good run (at least 2 miles) that way if you cannot make it for a few days because you are busy all it does is help you gives your body the rest cycle it needs.
