I'd have to believe that if you enjoy having an erection, as often as you like, it's safe at any amount. The only instance that having an erection could harm you is if you had one for an extended period of time, usually more than 4 hours, without going flaccid.
You really can't injure your penis by having multiple erections but you can by having any one erection for too long of time!

If you are talking about how many times a day at the most is getting off safe then I would say once or twice a day. By touching yourself a lot it desensitizes your penis, there for hard for a woman to get you off. I know my ex use to masterbate like three times a day growing up and he was the hardest person to get off. It wasn't even enjoyable anymore it was like a chore.
