i am 13 years old and think i have irregular heart beat, how will they fix it??

Question:

Answers:
Most doctors are not surprised when a teenager has an irregular heart beat..often it is a normal anomalie. You are thirteen, going through hormonal changes .maturing. (((IF))) you have negative symptoms like chest pain, shortness of breath.fainting, you will need a more intensive work up. For now, your irregular heart rate may be just a part of normal teen age maturing..physical and emotional stresses of growing up.

Other Answers:
They may leave it alone completely if they find it is causing you no troubles. This is really a question you need to ask your doctor because the treatment depends on the particular irregularity.

Irregular heart beat is not necessarily a problem. If the doctor suggests that, try yoga (pranayam) before getting into any surgeries.

your'e only 13 , and besides if you DID have irregular heart beat , there would have been serious problems . i think it's just your imagination going hay-wire . if your'e really keen on 'fixing' it you might want to try meditation or yoga , it helps.

you should go to the hospital and have the docters check it out

Tell your doctor they can check it out..could be you drink stuff with a lot of caffine in it.Certain meds can casue it too.Keep a diary to bring with you..They can do a couple of tests to find out for sure.
Make sure you do what they say.I wouldn't just start yoga without making sure it's not a medical problem first.many believe it's mind over matter..maybe their problems were..that doesn't mean yours are though.

common sense

Please, don't put your health in the hands of an amateur forum. Respect your mind and body. Consult your doctor. (I am a physician myself and this is the best advice I can possibly give you.)

First of all at age 13, I hope this is something you have discussed with a parent(s). The first thing that needs to be done is a visit to your family doctor. If he/she feels it is necessary, they will refer you to a specialist, i.e., cardiologist for a complete evaluation.

I encourage you to discuss this with a parent, relative, or someone you can get you to a health care professional.

Good luck
