If ovulation does not happen when yr on the pill then how does one menstruate during that time?

Question:

Answers:
it isn't really menstruation it is just withdrawal bleeding on your pill free days

Other Answers:
Menstruation is the result of the uterus lining thickening then shedding. The uterine lining prepares for egg implantation by getting thick. If you keep taking the pill, and skip the placebo pills (the pills you take when you are on your period), you can avoid getting your period.

While the hormones in the pill fool your body into thinking you are pregnant to prevent ovulation, you still shed the lining of your uterus every month. There is, however, another pill that uses different hormone levels so that you shed the lining only 4 times a year.
