Last Feb. I had to get cells removed from my cervix?
Question:
Answers:
Make the appt and get it checked! If they already removed some I'm sure it will come back normal, but if it doesn't wouldn't you rather have them take care of it right away before it gets worse then wait and then have to go through radiation and/or chemo?
Other Answers:
Take someone you really trust with you for support.
Good Luck!!
did you have a colposcopy done? I'm having one done next week.they probably would have notified you if something was wrong right?
don't be scared! i had to have a series of exams every month for six months b/c i had an abnormanl pap. it is better to be safe than sorry. cervical cancr has serious negative effects on your body if left untreated or if treated too late. you definitely need to go. tell your doctor your feelings as well. they should be empathetic and understanding. you an do it!
Speak to the doctor and tell him/her how you feel. This helps the doctor too, so they can offer you support that you need. As for the results of this visit, I'd like to encourage to go, hopefully no further treatment is needed, but if it is then at least you can discuss about the treatment options. Don't postpone it, or cancel your appointment, it is much worse then to book another one again. I know these visits are a pain (I thought I'd work in a construction site for two weeks without pay rather than see my OB-GYN, but it just has to be done), but I also know they are professionals and they must give you all respect ad treat you with dignity. Good luck! Once you have done it, go and treat yourself! Some new clothes, new book, that yummy chocolate cake !
Tis ok to worry, bring someone along; but definately GO to do the checkup. It's better to know if there's a problem. Had a sister who had gyn probs that woulda been totally treatable had they been detected earlier. As it was, by the time she went to get checked out, what was a (relatively) minor spot had become an aggresive system-wide cancer that eventually ended her life.
May not sound reassuring, but the fact is that by ignoring a minor problem, it became a major issue.
Take glyconutrients.
duh go for your appointment. Have faith in God.
go
It's ok to be scared, but think of going to the doctor as a step in the right direction for your health. Better to catch the bad while it's small then to put it off. Most likely you'll be ok. Tell your doc how you feel, it's nothing they haven't seen or heard before.
Hi,
I have walked on your shoes and let me tell you I know it's not easy. First, make sure you go to the appointment! Cervical cancer develops because women don't go get their paps and colposcopies when they have had abnormal tests in the past. Follow up is so important.
Before the appointment, remember no sex, no douching, nothing in the vagina for at least 24 hours. This can cause the tests to come back inaccurate.
Finally, wait for the results and this is by far the worst part of it all. But, give yourrself a big pat on the back for facing the problem head on. Many women don't follow up out of fear. You are one of the strong ones!
If you continue to follow up, chances are good that you will never develop cervical cancer.
Best of luck to you!
