Answers:
I go through the same thing. It is a mixture of you having the gift of sight, and your mind telling you things wiil turn out for the worse because of traumatic experiences that happened to you(it seems when you're happy, things always change for the worse.) My advice to turn off this anxiety is to say this affirmation when feeling it "My life only changes for the better, my loved ones and I are safe".
It helped me out tremendously. The mind is a powerful thing if you see something bad coming, say the affirmation to change it.

its not a problem its a gift

it kind of sounds like you are OCD. I think i am a little OCD, i also have dyslexia, and ADD.

Its a premonition your having and I have them too.I usually dont say anything to people when I feel like something is gonna happen because I dont want people thinking Im nuts.Your fine hun. We`re normal.:)

Two issues:

First, sounds like you are often anxious. Paranoia is an easy sign of basic anxiety. This anxiety generally resides in negative thinking or a past filled with disappointment. Sometimes the anxiety can be a sign of basic depression or maybe its just normal day to day anxiety we all go through. Doesn't mean you have a disorder, but at the least you have something you know you need to address and work on.

A disorder is a combination of subjective distress (having a problem which you are aware of and are worried you have) and functional impairment (meaning this problem interferes with your ability to function day to day and is causing you problems in different areas of your life - friends, money, school, work, health, etc.). Without those two elements, no one has a mental disorder.

Secondly, as far as being aware of bad things happening before they happen. Many people talk about that if you think negatively, negative things will happen. In psychology, this is called a self-fullfilling prophecy. Sometimes we are so worried about being disappointed or being harmed, instead of becoming a victim we unconsciously take control (which feels safer) and make that bad thing happen.

An obvious example of this is when you are about to take a test and you say to yourself "I am going to fail, I just know it." "Knowing" you are going to fail you decide it is a waste of time to study, so you decide to not study or don't study as hard. Or maybe you do study but keep yourself so distracted with the thought you are going to fail so while you study the material doesn't sink in. In any case, it was that thought that you were going to fail which ended up making you fail i.e. your prophecy was fullfilled because of your lack of actions (not studying properly).

Hopes that all makes sense.

I have a masters degree in clinical psychology.

Boy do I relate. I found ( after many years of therapy that nothing is helped by worrying.May be you are just overwhelmed. When you start worrying try to do something have a tea party with you little girl or play a game with your little boy. Remember that worrying is causing you problems and try to stop. Alot easier said than done. but a Dr. told me to do this and it is working. Don't forget you need some time to yourself to relax.

lifes experience.

it doesn't seem to be a disorder, just a wrong type of mindset. "as a man (or woman) thinks in his heart, so is he", your toughts and worry of bad things happening to you prepare you so much for those things (you set yourself up to only accept bad outcomes) that you close yourself to the good things that can come into your life and its because you don't want to be dissapointed if what you expect does not happen, that probably explains why you continue to think that way even though your not seeing positive results, but remember its better to get half of the things your expecting in life than to get all of the nothing you expect in life, there are spiritual forces at work in life, the bible says Christ Jesus came that we may have life and more abundantly, not to condemm us but to save us, so put your trust in him,

Hey, I think, you have anxiety disorder.

sounds like you have some generalized anxiety and stress. though i'm not sure what you mean about knowing something bad will happen..perhaps you don't KNOW- you just think or worry something bad will happen.

Anxiety is common and can present itself many ways- usually you will have some physical symptoms like headaches, sweating, rapid heartbeat, maybe even a panic attack. You should try to learn ways to relax- like soothing music, a bath, yoga, prayer, etc. Talk to friends and family about how you feel- and perhaps a doctor- they may be able to help direct your anxiety and assit with your worries.

It can get better, but you need to take a step and ask for help or work with loved ones to change your feelings/address your concerns.
