If you know that pipe water is recycled water then why do you drink it?

Question:
It went down your toilet and your kitchen sink and it went to the sewer and then the treatment plant(if you live in Toronto it went to Ashbridges Bay-check it out)-sure it's been chlorinated and filtered but it also has the remnants of people's heart medication and other medicines and it used to be swimming around someone's you know what..so again-why wouldn't you drink bottled water? Why do you drink pipe water? (assuming you do) and btw this is geared to people in Canada and the USA or any country that recycles water.

Answers:
I don't drink tap water, only bottled mineral water.at least that doesn't have flouride added to it.

Other Answers:
Because it has been filtered and cleaned and will not harm you

Bottled water is piped into factories just like tap water. There aren't actually people hunched over next to a mountain stream filling up your bottled water.

uh.ever since the beginning of our planet, there has only been so much water. It's all been being recycled since then! Where do you suppose bottled water comes from?

All water goes thru some sort of recycling. They call it purifying the water. It is needed to ensure the water will not cause illness, if consumed.

Also, learn more about the state-of-the-world and you will thank God for recycling. The scientist are already predicting that the world's population will excede the availability of water by the year. Just reading your details before submitting. I don't believe that they simply pour chlorox on " poopy, human-remain containing " water. If so, hopefully, they know what their doing. If really paranoid, boil all water before drinking, and add a cap full of chlorox to bath water.

All water is recylced, event the mountain stream. Everything in the world today has been there all the time, it just changes into other stuff.

rivers/lakes/seas evaporate in warm conditions, create clouds, rains water, forms streams etc etc. the condition of the water you drink will depend on where the water came from. if you drank from a muddy pool it wont be good (but better than nothing if you were in the desert), if the ground where the water is collecting, is contaminated, then the water will be contaminated. All western drinking water has been 'purified' to get rid of the nasties. Bottled water is probably also purified (hopefully) otherwise if the ground area where they claim to take the water from becomes contaminated, there's nothing to stop you from drinking contaminated bottled water. BUT I very much doubt that would happen in reputable water bottlers. One wrong batch they'd go out of business. Remember what happened to Perrier water in France some years ago..

There should be nothing at all wrong with tap water or bottled water. sometimes tap water doesn't taste brilliant but rarely is it horrid (as long as it really is tap water for drinking and not 'grey' water).

At the end of it all, water is the one thing we all need and cannot do without and even a muddy pool can save a life.

Depending on your current location, some water sources are clean enough to be taken straight from the tap. While in some parts of the city, even if the water is recycled and still people drink from it? The answer is simple. Economic. They do not have the sufficient budget to purchase bottled water. If you were to be placed in their shoes, You have 5.00 in your pocket, what you get? Food or bottled water? In extreme cases, the usual scenario is deliberate miss-information. By whom? Well your guess is as good as mine.
