The truth is most guys will be quite happy with you just trying. to be good at it, either learn to REALLY enjoy it or to pretend like you do. Everything here varies a lot and these are general guidelines only, but work in MOST men.
First - men really do prefer it if you let them ejeculate inside your mouth. If you want them to pull out before they come so you don't have to taste it then you will essentially rob them of the stimulation to the penis during the most important part.
Second - enjoy doing it. If you don't want to do it don't do it. If you are not having fun then stop. Most (decent) men won't enjoy it half as much if you are not enjoying giving it.
Third - Use your hand to help your mouth. You can take about 2-3" comfortably in your mouth - use your hand to stimulate the rest of the shaft and the balls - this effectivly extends the mouth to the whole of the penis.
Fourth - Know how the penis works and what bits do what. Knowledge is always a good thing! The penis is not just one area - it is made up of several components each of which has it's own purpose and each can be pleasured in different ways. The shaft and balls are pretty obvious. There is however a cheat. on palm side of the wrist is a pressure point - if you get him to press both of these very firmly with his thumbs you should be able to overcome the gag reflex.
