Why do some people twitch, is it a illness?
Question:
Answers:
Twitching can be a sign of a lot of things. Everyone twitches from time to time.
Some twitches which go on for a long time can be a sign of neurological conditions/damage, anything from a pinched nerve to ALS.
There are benign conditions like BFS (benign fasculitis (sp?) syndrome) in which people just have random twiches all over their bodies. These twitches do not progress into any serious disease, but are prevalent during stressful times.
Finally, twitching can be a sign of calcium deficiency. If the "twitcher" isn't a big milk drinker or doesn't eat a lot of calcium-rich foods, the first thing s/he might do is take a calcium and magnesium supplement to see if this helps.
The bottom line, though, is that if there is twitch that is bothersome, a visit to the doctor would be a good idea.
