What is an effective exercise routine to get firmed up and lose weight?


Question:
I have been exercising on and off, I need to find a new plan. I cancelled my gym membership because I was not going, but I do have a treadmill at home along with some free weights. Can anyone recommend any systems (like workout videos, etc.) that can do the trick and arent totally difficult..also, are there any good exercises to tone up the mid section of the back?

Walk 2 miles every day with GOOD POSTURE the whole way.

I use swimming! It helped me lose the weight I needed to, and it also helped me tone up my entire body. I made it a point to go to the indoor pool when it was cold and to the out door pool when its not. I still swim on a regular basis just to stay in shape and keep toned up.
