i have asthma and was wondering if there are any good otc drugs?

Question:

Answers:
With asthma it is always good to steer clear of over the counter drugs. The Best thing to do is get with your doctor. Try to get him to get you on a daily preventative medicine like Advair. I have chronic asthma and I had to be hospitalized 5 times last year. I'm doing better. But asthma is not something that you should try to treat over the counter. But if you must say clear of Ephedrine. That stuff almost killed me.

not really/

Asthma can be a "go bad in a hurry" ailment - this is not one for experimental procedures - this is one for professional help only.

Depending on the severity of your asthma try the following.

I have recently started spending time (weekends) in the country where the air is fresh and spemnd a lot of time walking - the end result is a DRAMATIC reduction in my asthma attacks.

Not always easy to do, but considering the alternative - i make sure I make the effort

No!

You need to go to a Pulmonologist. After some testing, he will prescribe exactly what you need.
Asthma treatment is nothing to drag your heels on.

Asthma cannot be treated with otc medications. You need to consult a Pulmonary Medicine specialist. Always prefer Inhalers over tablets.
