Strep Throat Home Remedies?

Question:
I would like to know of any home remedies for strep throat. I know that it's a bacteria which must run it's course, but is there anything to help with the sore throat.

Answers:
No home remedies. In fact, a home remedy is rather irresponsible. Go to the doctor and get a throat culture (you may not actually have strep throat), and if you DO have strep throat, they can prescribe an antibiotic (usually making you loads better in about 24 hours).

Viruses must run their course. Bacteria have antibiotics.

Other Answers:
Gargle with warm salt water usually works. Just be sure not to swallow it.

Sure, chloraseptic, sucrets, warm salt water gargle,
ibuprofen. A nice warm hot water bottle on the throat for a little while. It is really best to go see a doctor and get some antibiotics for the strep throat because it can develop into rheumatic fever and affect your heart. Be careful.

No home remedies. Did you know you can die from strep throat and it's infectious?

odwalla has a juice called "wellness" containing echinacea, astragalus, and vitamin c. i have used it for strep throat, bronchitis, pneumonia, etc. i think of it as politely asking the pathogens to leave or else i'll have them arrested (antibiotics). i drink one in the afternoon, one in the evening, followed by lots of water, a hot shower or bath, lots more water, get very warm to the point of sweating when sleeping. drink another "wellness" in the morning, lots of water all day, and see if it helps. if it doesn't improve within three days of this, see a doctor to get antibiotics.
