Are braces a pain in the butt to take care of?

Question:

Answers:
I didn't find the upkeep of braces annoying. There is just a little extra work but its not too different from every day maitnance. What I found annoying was the metal irritated my mouth. They sell wax for this and you put a big glob of it on teh area and it stops rubbing agrains your mouth. And popcorn shells got caught in there and it was very painful. I would do it again though.

They're not that bad. When i had braces, everytime i brushed my teeth I would use those little pick things and clean out in between them. Just dont eat a lot of chewy stuff. They'll most likely break.

yes an no
its hard for a few days but then u get used to them

Yes, but they're worth it. Try to brush really good at the very least, once a day. My daughter just had her braces removed. Her teeth are so straight, and even her profile of her chin looks better. But beware! She didn't brush as often as she should have, so she has these ugly white spots where the braces were. Guess what? They can't be bleached out, and her only option is porcelain veneers, at about $800 a tooth. She will have to pay for that when she grows up.

No, they're not that bad to take care of. Normal Oral Hygeine like brushing and flossing is enough. Although, The use of an electric toothbrush would make life much easier. Oh, and dont miss any appointments, or else the braces removal will be delayed. go0d LucK ;)

my own experience ;)

not at all, brush twice daily try a spinner toothbrush, floss at night, the wax can help for pain buy it at any store, and use orajel in case of cancor sores. dont miss appointments.

When I had braces I would brush after each meal and then use the wooden sticks to get anything that was stuck. (Don't use toothpicks for that, they could hurt.) Pay special attention to the teeth that have metal bands all the way around. Between the metal band and gumline on your back molars can be prone to getting dirty. If you use floss be careful as it can get stuck in the wires and brackets.
