Well, in my humble opinion, I think emailing and IM-ing has made young people lazy at typing. I noticed my 15 year old son not only doesn't capitalize but uses made up words. All of his friends do it. I think it is a horrible habit, laziness and is just plain viewed as acceptable now. I have seen it at work in professional emails as well. Shame but people just don't have respect for the English language anymore.
