Is a punching bag a healthy way to release daily rage?

Question:

Answers:
Yeah it can be. Alot of doctors will tell you tho to try to focus your rage on something postive rather than any sort of breaking or hitting. Scream in a pillow real loud. Or sing really loud while laying on your bathroom floor. Just focus your rage on something postive. Try to figure out what tiggers your rage, and when you do, point it in a better direction.

Other Answers:
Yes. It's a good way of releasing energy channeled from the agression. But, it shouldn't be made to transfer the agression, that will only make it worse. You have to be in charge of your mind. If you decide that you are channeling energy and realize that you have the power to make it what you will, you can release the rage and replace it with peace.

Alot better than hurting people or punching holes in the wall & having to pay the repair bills.

Sure thing. Not only are you letting out your frustrations you are staying fit as well. I cannot think of any other way to burn more calories than working on a punching bag.

My husband loves his punching bag and it has kept him very physically fit and sane at the same time.

JWhen my kids were little I bought some of those stand up ones that they could hit rather than each other and it stopped a lot of split lips, I don't see a things wrong with it if it works, better than hitting the siblings or spouses.

I'm no psychiatrist but I think that's a great idea because it's better than hitting other people or breaking things or hurting yourself.

yes, and don;'t let anyone else tell you it is another form of violence. That is a bunch of BS. If hitting a punching bag helps you release daily anger and stress, go for it. It is better than punching a hole through a wall or hitting another person.

The punching bag is a good way the relieve tensions because it exorcises your body; and increases your endorphin levels. You can also get that same release from other athletic exertions.

The natural emotion called Anger is a powerhouse of energy. When it is channeled into something positive which benefits society, it can be an opportunity for healthy change. Anger channeled toward evil is called rage and it is just another unfortunate option for maintaining the status quo.

Releasing your rage on a punching bag is just a temporary way to peace and it will just maintain the status quo. Only you can decide to make strides to eliminate whatever is causing this rage.

That's right; there is a problem that you are not dealing with. Some call it a denial of willingness to deal with those underlying issues.

In order to find comfort you need to confront those issues in a safe place with someone you can trust such as a therapist.

Good luck!
