Can I dye my hair to blonde if I'm a brunette? Please read the details.?

Question: I changed my hair colour one month ago to violet black.Now I want to cut it shorter and make it blonde.Do you think it would work and what would the intermediate colour be? Maybe there is someone there who has tried this.Maybe even an expert.Thank you.:)

I went through a phase were I was dyeing my hair alot. I tried to go from dark to blonde and it ended up orange. So my suggestion is no unless you want to look like a pumpkin.lol

I think this is one time you need to have a professional do your hair. First the color is going to have to be stripped. Then you will need to have a shade of blonde color put in. Since you colored your hair recently, you will have a lot of split ends. See a professional hair colorist at a beauty parlor.

Color will not lift color. Bleach of some type will have to be used and the desired color put back in. I would suggest a heavy highlight and tone it down with a medium blonde. Putting bleach all over your head might be too drastic of a change if you have been so dark. A professional stylist would be your best bet.
