I quit smoking about a month ago when I had my tonsils out. That wasn't necessarily cold turkey since my throat hurt like a beeeeotch. One thing that I did was to make sure I had a pack of cigarettes around so I knew that I could have one if I wanted one. Like I'M making the choice - they're there but I don't want one. I know that sounds weird, but I tend to panic more when I DON'T have cigarettes - if I don't have any then I keep thinking about it, when they're right there and I'm CHOOSING not to smoke them, it makes me feel better. (I kind of think "I could have one if I wanted to, but I DON'T WANT TO). I cheated and had 3 last week but I've found that they taste like nasty ash tray so if I just wait it out, the urge passes. Once you've quit for a little bit you start noticing how much the smell sticks to you and it's icky. Good luck!

Use nicorette gum or the patch. It worked for me. Stopped smoking after 40 years. No problems. Still clean for the 5 years.

Maybe just quiting cold turkey and not being around people that smoke also. Try to chew gum. That might help. Also helps the breath! lol
