How can I return to a normal sleep schedule?
For about 2 months, I've not been able to get to bed before 2am. Strangely enough I get tired around 9pm, but I'm unable to actually get to sleep even after I take valium. Consequently I have a hard time getting up in the morning. Does anyone have any suggestions?
Answers:
Force yourself to wake up too early. Stay awake all day until bedtime, no power naps. I had the same problem for about a month a couple weeks ago, turns out it was the fan I had in my window. It's one of those kinds you leave on and it automatically turns on and off according to tempature. As soon as I turned that thing off I slept like a baby. Maybe something is distracting you from sleeping better as well. Just a thought.
i am asking if you want noni at a great deal, email me?

have you tried warm bath/showers, warm milk, soaking feet in a bucket of really hot water..make love with your wife. when you are very tired you will fall into a sleep very fast.
If you find out, I'd like to know as well. I'm awake until 5am most of the time & sleep until somewhere between 10-12 noon. I despise it and would like to go back to an earlier schedule.

Just try listening to music. If that doesn't work, try to have the light off and have no noise near youMy parents and friends think i have anorexia. what do i do?
Don't take your valium before bedtime. Instead, take a brisk walk of about a mile (20 minutes or so) around 8pm, then a warm shower or bath. Go to bed around 9pm, read something not too exciting for about 1/2 hour and then turn out the lights. It will help if you have some background white noise, like a fan, to mask any outside interference. You'll find it easier to sleep if you've physically worked a bit during the day or exercised in some way. You mind is ready to sleep, but your body just isn't tired.
my mom told me to turn my music down so she can sleep?
Have you spoken to your doctor about this? Did he put you on Valium (which is a relaxant, not a sleeping pill per se) for insomnia? I would suggest asking him to switch. If you're not on Valium for sleeping problems, I would still talk to my doctor. But in the meantime, my suggestion would be to stick to a schedule. The first few days will be hard. You'll be very tired in the morning. But go to bed at the same time and get up at the same time every day, even on weekends; it will re-program your body clock.
The other suggestions are good too: warm bath, herbal tea, warm milk. Personally, a good Civil War documentary on the History channel will put me right out, but the noise may only bother you. Take some time to relax before going to bed. Read a book or listen to music; don't expect to fall asleep the second you get into bed.
Good luck!
