It's taboo and secretive. It's an adult thing that the adults don't want you to know too much about. It's something that teens are starting to physically feel and want to know more about. And it doesn't help when their friends seems to know more or at least want to discuss it at length.

Its all about image now a days or how you look. So interms makes young minds want to find themselves in meaningfull sex because they beleive thats cool.
